5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. It is based on continuous work, experimentation and research, always guided by the teachers. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as 12 case studies, research, and projects revolving around the idea "the life of a project". 

5.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks:

  • Case studies (2 weekly hours). The cases will be selected according to the exercise proposed in the topics of Architectural Design and Construction.
  • Review of case studies while students conduct their own projects. These reviews will make references to the projects developed by students.
  • Review of the student's individual research project. The research project will be based on one of the topics studied in the case studies.

5.3. Syllabus

The syllabus will depend on the case studies.

5.4. Course planning and calendar

The course is based on case studies, one session per case. The fourteen weeks assigned for this course are developed as follows:

  • Session 1: Presentation of the 12 case studies and topics.
  • Session 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12: Case studies from Architectural Projects
  • Session 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13: Case studies from Construction
  • Session 14: Presentation of the students' research projects.

The literature required will be agreed according to the chosen case studies.
